Social Action Committee
The purpose of our Social Action Committee is to choose and implement projects that will involve and engage the members of the Beth-El community in looking outward, to improve our world, locally and globally, by focusing on such areas as support and advocacy for Israel, social justice, environmental issues, and various hands-on socially helpful activities in our Long Island community.
Our current short-term goals are:
- Finding worthwhile socially-conscious projects to invigorate our Congregation’s sense of common purpose
- Increasing the public’s awareness and our Congregation’s participation in ensuring the success of our Kosher Food Pantry
- Encouraging and achieving significant Congregation attendance in support of Israel at the Salute to Israel Parade on June 3, 2012
