Hazak

Hazak is the Hebrew word that means to be strong. The letters-Hokhmah means wisdom, Ziknah means maturity, and Kadimah means Looking Ahead. When we conclude the reading of the entire book of the Torah, the congregation stands and proclaims: hazak, hazak,v’nithazek”–be strong and let us strengthen one another. The idea of continued strength makes up Hazak’s name. It is the United Conservative Synagogue’s program for mature adults, ages 55 and older. We have several programs during the year and there is no membership fee. Costs vary from program to program.
