Congregation Beth-El Proudly presents a Weekend of Learning. On Friday , March 23, 2012, following Shabbat Evening Services: ”Secular Jewishness” by Chana Schachner, PhD. Dr. Schachner has worked as a teacher of Yiddish language and culture and a lecturer in Jewish History. She as been a member of and a leader in Jewish organizations on local and national levels. On Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. gourmet brunch ($18 per person) followed by lecture: ”Current Affairs in Israel –Middle East Update” by Linda Scherzer. Ms. Schertzer is a former Mideast Correspondent for CNN and Israel Television. Today, she is a PR and media consultant where she advises the Jewish community on how to combat negative media images from Israel. Please join us for this exciting weekend filled with interesting discussion on current and relevant topics.
